Ashtanga is a very dynamic and athletic form of yoga composed of a set sequence of asanas. It combines movement, pranayama (breath work), drishti (focus) and the engagement of bandhas (body locks) to increase stamina and muscle strength, reduce blood pressure and stress, and boost mental clarity and concentration.

Although Ashtanga is precise and physically challenging, beginners are welcomed and will be guided through all the series.

This is a mindful slow-flow, combining dynamic movement with some static postures and breath-work at a manageable pace. The slower nature of the practice allows for greater focus on alignment and mindful breathing, making this practice accessible to yogis of all levels. This is a great class to become accustomed to the asanas if you are just beginning in your yoga journey.

Life can get busy and overwhelming. Meditation is a timeless practice that can help us overcome this overwhelm and gradually allow us to experience self-realisation and spiritual fulfilment. The secret to gaining the benefits is to practice it regularly.

    Restorative Yin

Yin works on the deep connective tissues (fascia, tendons and ligaments) and joints, improving flexibility and mobility, and calming and balancing the mind and body. In restorative yin, the longer holds are passive, held and supported through the use of props such as bolsters and blocks. This class will relieve tension in both the body and mind and leave you feeling relaxed and centred.

    Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa is generally a faster practice, however all experience levels are welcomed as modifications and options are provided to suit all different levels of practice, and cues are given to ensure safe body alignment. The focus on pairing the breath with movement aids in quieting the mind, and the dynamic movement allows the heart rate to increase, building cardiovascular fitness and heat internally, allowing muscles to stretch further and deeper. The term ‘vinyasa’ is derived from ‘nyasa,’ meaning to place, and ‘vi,’ meaning ‘in a special way.’ This means we are not throwing our bodies around, but rather bringing consciousness to each movement in every moment.
